An absolutely wonderful 5* experience

Beautiful accommodation in a stunning location, calm and peaceful but not too far from interesting places to visit and lovely walks. The house has been so cleverly designed and thought through to provide exceptional comfort and quality. Breakfast was superb, the bedroom beautifully appointed, the mattress blissfully comfortable. The real gems were Gary and Helen. Such lovely warm, welcoming hosts. We have travelled extensively (and expensively) but the Millstone House experience stands out in so many ways. 

We will definitely return. We just didn't want to leave.

Second wonderful visit

This is the second visit to Millstone House and once again it was a lovely break. The accommodation is first class and Gary and Helen are wonderful hosts, where nothing is too much trouble and Helen's homemade cake in an afternoon is a real treat. It is a wonderful location to visit the area or just sit and relax.

We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Best B&B Ever!

This is definitely 5 star accommodation, better than many a hotel of similar ilk. Millstone is superb in every aspect from the owners Gary and Helen who cannot do enough for their guests to the quality of the rooms and lovely breakfasts. The whol place is wonderfully thought out with lots of extra touches and makes for an excellent base to stay in County Durham. The area has much to offer being close to Raby Castle, Bishop Auckland and Barnard Castle. Whether its walking or visiting attractions all are there.

Just as good as before

Sometimes, when you go back to a place where you have previously stayed, it doesn't seem to quite measure up to your first visit. This is definitely not the case with Millstone House B&B! Our second visit was for three nights in Aug 19 and it was as immaculate as when we were there the last time. Gary and Helen are welcoming and friendly hosts who provide top quality accommodation and excellent breakfasts. Everything we said in the review after our first visit still stands. We strongly recommend this B&B and look forward to staying again in the future.

The perfect antidote to 'normal' life

The most amazing place. Gary and Helen make this stay incredible, they have thought of everything. You feel that this is not only a business to them but somehting they are both passionate about and have gone above and beyond to create a small but amazing 3 room B&B and with no kids under 16, it certainly is an adult escape. Very peaceful with beautiful surroundings, just back from the main road of a lovely little village. All rooms have patio doors out to a paved area... just the sound of chickens, sheep, and cattel --- the perfect antidote to 'normal' life. 

We will certainly be back for more spoiling!

Highly Recommended

From the moment we arrived we were greeted like VIP's. I travel a great deal with work and stay in numerous hotels and B&B's and I must say this is the best I have experienced. Gary and Helen are so attentive and they have thought of everything, from soft robes to the provision of Alexa. Both quinquagenarian and my octagenarian Mum would like to thank Gary and Helen for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable.

Fantastic!

Well all I can say is we had a lovely 2 night break and couldn't fault anything!

We loved sitting outside on the terrace, by day - eating lovely tasty and fresh cake, having a drink, watching the rabbits, very peaceful. Also, by night, the sky was so clear and dark - no light pollution, we spotted 5 shooting stars!!

Breakfast both mornings was scrummy, best quality sausage I've had! Rooms immaculately clean and furnished comfortably with high quality finishings/gadgets. We would recommend Millstone House, if you are looking to stay in this area don't look any further, you will not be disappointed! Ideal place to stay if attending Kynren also. We shall return! 

Superb Break

We had 2 rooms here last week, for two nights. Certainly the best B&B we've ever experienced - a beautifully designed house; with every facility that you could wish for a short break - comfortable beds and chairs, large TV and WIFI, very stylish ensuite. Breakfasts to suit every taste; and hosts dedicated to the wellbeing of their guests.

5*Plus Property

This is how every B&B should be run. The rooms are superb, everything has been thought about for your absolute comfort. The breakfast is amazing with so much choice and presented to a very high standard. The location is so peaceful. You must stay at this property, it's an absolute treat.

Dont hesitate to book here - everything about it is perfect. This is an exceptional place and the hosts are fantastic. It is the best B&B I can ever remember staying in. Wonderful breakfast, just hope we can come back soon.
